Financial matters often become the central point of the struggle that most believers have. Satan will not cease to destroy financial area of believers because he understands that if believers continue to have financial problems, they can not focus to fulfill God’s plan in their lives. So guarding the financial area is a priority.

That’s why financial area should be completely guarded with strong principles of the Word, so God can work freely in the area of our finances and the devil can not find a gap for his entrance and buffets the area of our finances.
These are the principles of the Word that we must establish to guard the area of our finances:
1. Learned to be sufficed with what you have (Hebrews 13:5).
What we receive each month are the blessing of God, learn to suffice yourself with what God gave, because basically, God always gives enough even excessive for our needs. The problem is, we try to adjust our revenues with our expenditures. Start learning to adjust expenditures to revenues.
If we are controlled by money, we become slaves of money. Take control of money and organize your expenditures, then money will become our servant. Learn to suffice yourself with what you have! If we have built a lifestyle like this, God promises: “ I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee!” God will act to suffice whatever we need.
2. Learn to believe that wealth is the result of God’s blessing/grace.
Even though we need relations but wealth is not the result of the relations we have. In the Genesis 14:21-23, Abram refused king of Sodom’s offer who wanted to give wealth to him. The reason was that Abram did not want in the future king of Sodom could say that Abram was rich because of him. Why is that? Because Abram believed that wealth is the result of God’s blessing/grace that is poured out in his life, not the result of relation.
Wealth is also not from the result of our hard work or intelligence. In Deuteronomy 8:17-18, Moses warned God’s people that if they had managed to enter the promised land filled with milk and honey, do not say that the success was due to their strength, but they must remember that the success was because of God’s blessing/grace that is given because God remembered the covenant that He made with their spiritual father.
“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22).
This does not mean we get lazy in working. We do not work relaxed, but also do not work hard, we work smart and accurate, according to the guidance of His Spirit.
3. Build wealth from gathering little by little (Proverbs 13:11).
Many people want to immediately get a big project, but the Bible says, “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.”
Strong wealth gathered from little by little. Therefore, never underestimate everything that is little. The Lord often begins to work from the little we have. God freed the widow in debt at the time of prophet Elisha using the remaining oil in a jar that she had. Therefore, gathers whatever little we have. When God’s blessing/grace is poured out, then that little will become much.
4. Build a habit of giving and sharing (1 Tim. 6:18-19, Proverbs 11:24).
Once we have more, we must begin to develop a habit of giving and sharing. This habit will kill the greed in our lives so we do not get caught in the act that opposing the truth
5. Don’t ever rely on wealth (Proverbs 11:28; 1 Tim. 6:17).
Before we had money, we entrust ourselves entirely to God. Once we’ve got money, we should be careful. Do not let us entrust ourselves to wealth. Money is influenced by many things, therefore, its value is easily change. Do not rely on things like money that is uncertain. In this world, only God and His Word that are not affected by anything, just lean your life to Him alone!
6. Don’t ever fall in love with weatlh (Eccl. 5:9, 1 Tim. 6:10).
After we’ve got more, we start having contact with money. Be careful! Because the more we’re getting closer, there will be temptations to fall in love over money. The characteristics if we’ve fallen in love with money are: We are never satisfied with our earnings, we continue to chase money and tried to get it in any way, our minds are filled with money and money alone.
7. Don’t ever get caught to enjoy the pleasures of life (Prov. 21:17).
Although we have a lot of money, do not get caught to dissipate, do not rush to increase your lifestyle so that we can continue to be trusted by the Lord in financial area.
By guarding our financial area through the principles above, undoubtedly we will not lack, even excessive because God will bless our treasures that are managed according to the word.
