In the last article we have learned that inner conflicts prevent us to be used by God, that’s why inner conflicts must be resolved from our lives. How? Here are ways to overcome inner conflicts in our lives (Exodus 3-4):
1. Confront the wrong thoughts with the Word of God.
If we look at God’s conversation with Moses, Moses continued to express his wrong thoughts and God continued to confront him with His Word. Inner conflicts come from the wrong thoughts that are not in accordance with the Word of God, that is why we must receive the revelation of the powerful Word to confront those wrong thoughts and replace it with the Word that we receive.
To replace wrong thoughts with the Word that we receive, we need to declare the Word continuously until the wrong thoughts collapse and the Word embedded. If we succeed in replacing the wrong thoughts that are at the root of the inner conflicts, then the inner conflicts will be eliminated from our lives.
2. Firmness is needed to get rid of inner conflicts.
A person who have inner conflicts often have a high ‘self-righteousness.’ That’s why he becomes a very difficult person to be adviced, even when the revelation of the Word comes, he often rejects it, because he wants to establish his own righteousness. God kept speaking to Moses and Moses continued to express his inner conflict thoughts. When did Moses stop? When God was angry. Often this is what to do with people who have inner conflicts.
That’s why this person needs to have firmness or need to be handled by a man of God who dares to confront him firmly. Because this person often just wants to ‘pour out his problems’ without wanting to change. Firmness is needed to conquer the inner conflicts.
3. Often have to go through the wilderness long enough to break down the wall of inner conflicts.
God didn’t speak to Moses for 40 years in the wilderness, with the purpose to ‘crush’ all the pebbles of inner conflicts that have crystallized within Moses. After 40 years, the Lord came to visit Moses, and even then God must ‘force’ Moses with His wrath, then Moses can be conquered. Finally God can bring Moses out of jail of his small ‘I am’ and received the great ‘I AM.’ So when Moses went to do God’s work, he went in the awesomeness of God’s ‘I AM.’
Those are ways to overcome inner conflicts in our lives, do your part and see God works in your life and resolve all the inner conflicts that have hindered your spiritual journey.
