The Bible says, what the Lord has spoken shall be done (Luke 1:5-45). This verse uses the word “shall,” which means it will be done.
“And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord” (Luke 1:45).
When a king has spoken, whatever he said must be done. Our God is the King of kings, that is why whatever He says shall be done. Whatever the situation, whatever the facts, whatever the obstacles, it shall be done! It is impossible that it would not be done, because He is the King of kings. His word is final and absolute! The only obstacle is our unbelief. If we believe that He is the King of kings whose decision is never refuted, then we will experience that whatever He says shall be done!
1. Even though there is no potency that allows it to happen.
We all know that for a woman to give birth to a child there must be a seed of a man that enters into her womb. Maria was not married, there’s no man’s seed that could give birth to a child. That’s why when the Angel conveyed the Word of God that she would give birth to a child, Mary asked, “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?” And the angel answered, “For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37).
When God speaks to us, maybe then we do not see the potency that allows for everything to be done, but make the decision to keep trusting His word. Believe everything shall be done! And we shall see it happen!
At first, I pastored a very few congregation and the offering was very little, so I had experienced a financial crisis at the time. At that time I was thinking, “If there are rich people who come and be my congregation, the church’s financial problems will be over.” But then God said, “Do not expect the rich to come and be your congregation, make your congregation to be rich.” I was somewhat surprised at that time and asked myself, “Can it be?”
I did not have a background as an entrepreneur or as a rich man, how can I make my congregation to be rich? There’s no potency that allows it to happen. But finally I decided to believe, that whatever God says shall be done.
I began to pray and constantly declare it. And then God began to give revelations of the Word about financial breakthrough and I was experiencing it. I taught them to my congregation and they began to experience it. Their economic level began to increase gradually. I began directing my congregation to become entrepreneurs. But the problem was, they did not have the capital. Eventually I began to believe that we can have a business without capital.
One by one, my congregation began to think to become entrepreneurs. Some of them quit their jobs and started their own business. And there are now at least two people who have businesses without capital that are growing rapidly and starting to be big. All started to become a reality.
How could it possibly happen, while I do not have the potency? How could it possibly happen, when we do not have the capital? For with God nothing is impossible! What He says, that he will perform! Whatever He says shall be done!
2. Even though there are barriers that do not allow it to happen.
Unlike Maria, Elisabeth had a husband. This means that there was a potency to give birth to a child. But the problem was, she had a barrier. She was barren, and she and her husband were old, it was no longer possible to give birth. But for God nothing is impossible! Whatever the barriers, if we believe, whatever God says shall be done!
When I pastored the church at the beginning, the Lord said: “I will bring all your siblings to be your congregation.” How could that possibly happen? No way! There were too many barriers and obstacles for which it could be done.
I am the sixth child of nine children. At that time, it was just my youngest sister who has become my congregation. It means that there were seven of my siblings who should be my congregation. The calculation was my two brothers (They are still possible to become my congregation) and five people were my older brothers and sisters (there was no way my older brothers and sisters wanted to be pastored by his younger brother). Impossible!
The next obstacle was distance. I pastored my church in Central Jakarta while four of my brothers lived in West Jakarta which location was quite far, two people lived in Cibubur and Cisalak (it was even further), and one person in Semarang (this is very far). Impossible!
The next obstacle was the mindset problem. There were many of my siblings who had already made a decision not to become my congregation for various reasons. Some were due to distance, other thought that if something bad happens between us, it will not be good for our relationship, etc.
But surely He is an almighty God. If He had spoken, He would do it. One by one my siblings came and became my congregation in various divine ways (including who was in Semarang. God has moved him to Jakarta). God even added a bonus; my mother came and became my congregation (my father had gone to Heaven). Incredible!
The latest was my eldest sister. When she had come for several times and I felt she had been steady to worship there, it means nine siblings plus our mother gathered in one church; I announced and introduced all my brothers and sisters to my congregation and said, “Today the Word that was delivered to me ten years ago that all of my siblings would come and be my congregation is fulfilled.” All the people rejoiced and admired what God had done.
And I experienced God’s Word: “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord” (Luke 1:45).
