Who is Right, God or Satan?

We are often easily obscured and think that what the devil says are truer than what God says and the results are immediately visible. Who is right, God or Satan?

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2:16-17)

…. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil (Genesis 3:1-5)

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons (Genesis 3:6-7)

Freedom Issue

This is the most frequently raised issue among Christians. Many people believe that when we follow God, our lives are not free anymore. You can’t do this! You can’t do that! You can’t do anything! Everything is off limit!

Is that so? Of course not! It is a fact that has been twisted by Satan. It’s been happening since the beginning of creation. God says to men: “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it.” So the ordinance of God was liberating: all allowed, except one! Satan has twisted God ‘s ordinance, saying to Eve: “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”

So God’s ordinance is: All can be eaten except one!

Satan twisted it to become: All should not be eaten! And strangely this is the ordinance that people believe now: God has many rules, all is prohibited! Yet that is what Satan did to us. After Satan succeeded in persuading men to eat the forbidden fruit, what happened was that all trees become inedible, except with hard work.

Freedom is something that is always offered by Satan to mankind, but in fact, the freedom offered by Satan is a deadly attachment. For example, Satan offers cigarettes and drugs as a form of freedom, but after we receive it, instantly the cigarettes and drugs transformed into an attachment that is very difficult to remove.

But if God offers freedom, then the freedom is truly liberating!

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36)

Suspecting God

God says: “For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die!”

Satan said: “Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

Previously people believed that what Allah gave was the best for him and what God prohibited was harmful to him. But Satan twisted everything so that men began to learn to suspect God .

“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons” (Genesis 3:6-7)

Men was instigated by Satan to suspect God that God was a liar. When Satan has succeeded in making you suspicious of God, then what is forbidden by God will look good for you and what God gives starts to look not good in your eyes. Though we all know Satan is the father of lies and it is impossible for God to lie.

Hebrews 6:18

“That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.”

So do not ever suspect God, because when you suspect God, it shows that you have been deceived by Satan.

A Matter of Results

God says: “For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die!”

Satan said: “Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

Once again Satan twisted on the results. And it seems that the results stated by Satan were immediately visible after that.

“And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons”

God said, if you eat of it you shall die. Satan said, if you eat of it your eyes will be opened. And the result? It seems like they didn’t die, but rather their eyes opened. Which one is true? God or Satan?

This is the deception:

Indeed their eyes open, but it makes awareness in the physical things has become more real than awareness in the spiritual things. Awareness of the fact and reality is greater than the awareness of God and truth. Previously, the master of human life was the consciousness of God and spiritual things, but now the master of men is the consciousness of facts and physical things.
