Be successful and succeed with God’s way

People often think that if we follow God’s way or use God’s way, success will not come quickly or if it is coming, it must be very slow and very difficult. Even Christians often adopt the world’s saying, “This era is a crazy era, if we are not crazy like them, we would not get anything,” when in fact you can choose to be successful and succeed with God’s way.

The concept that God’s way of success is much slower and more difficult makes many Christians decide to use his own way or do a mixture between God’s way and his. There is a time they used God’s way, but if they are in a tight situation, they use their own way.

Is it true that God’s way of success is more difficult and slower than men’s? The answer is: NOT TRUE! Have you ever seen a plane in the air and compare it with a car on the ground? The plane in the air looks very slow and the car looks very fast on land. In fact, the higher the plane, the more it looks motionless, but it is actually moving faster. If we go to Bali, you go by car and I go by plane, who would arrive first? While it looks very fast, but the drive takes about 30 hours to arrive in Bali. While with plane you only take about 1 hour 30 minutes. The time difference is very big.

That is God’s way of success and men’s. God’s way of success seems very slow and men’s way of success seems very fast. But in the end we will know that God’s way of success is much faster and easier than men’s way of success. We humans often judge everything from what we can see, not what it actually is.

Let us prove it from the Bible, how God’s way of success is very fast:

1. Joseph
Joseph began to have dreams of becoming a ruler at the age of 17.

“These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old” (Genesis 37:2).

And in such a young age he was sold into Egypt as a slave and starting ‘his career’ as a slave in Egypt, and he reached the pinnacle of his career as a ruler there at the age of 30.

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. … And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt. And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt (Genesis 41:44-46).

So if we calculate his success in God’s way, he only needed 13 years (30-17=13). Can you imagine, from a slave to a ruler in just 13 years? It was a very short time. If there is a person who begins his career as an office boy at a company and reaches the pinnacle of his career as CEO in 13 years, it is incredible! Can that happen? In God’s way, everything that could not be possible can be possible. Joseph had proved it!

Perhaps you say, “That was Joseph’s experience, perhaps only one in a million.” Well, I’ll give another evidence,

2. David
David began his career as a shepherd tending only two or three sheep, then he was anointed as king by Samuel. The Bible does not give information about how old David at the time, but there is information about his whereabouts at the time,

And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he (I Sam. 16:12).

David was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. How old a person is with this description? Say about 17 years old. So David began his career at about 17 years old like Joseph. And he reached the peak of his career of becoming king at the age of 30.

“David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years” (II Sam. 5:4).

So David’s success journey in God’s way took approximately 13 years (30-17=13). From a shepherd to become a king only took 13 years, it was a very fast. That is God’s way of success.

3. Daniel
Daniel began his career as a captive in Babylon and later became an officer in the king’s palace. The Bible informs his time like this:

“And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him” (Dan. 2:1).

The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret. Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon (Dan. 2:47-48).

Daniel was taken by Nebuchadnezzar as a captive in Babylon, but in his second year of reign Daniel was made a ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and became chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon. So it only took about 2 years for Daniel to achieve success in God’s way.

From the three examples above we have proved that the concept which says that following God’s way of success is slow is completely wrong! Are we in God’s way of success?

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12).

“All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits” (Proverbs 16:2).

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise” (Proverbs 12:15).

Choose to be successful and succeed with God’s way, then you will see that the process turns out to be much faster and more permanent than with your own way.
